Out To Change People’s Lives

By and posted | Category: Blog

While I was at college at William & Mary, I met some of the greatest people in the world, including my amazing wife, took some pretty sweet classes, and gained some lifelong friends.

One of those lifelong friends, who later became one of my groomsmen, is Chase Hathaway. While at W&M, Chase came up with a brilliant idea to start a student-run, student-based athletics fan club called The Tribal Fever. What transpired over approximately three months of late night gChatting and ideas, he launched this ‘business’ with some help from myself. Within a year, almost a 5th of the school had joined (with a small joining fee) and the athletic department named an annual award after Chase.

Pretty impressive.

Chase and I have both always had the entrepreneurial spirit and itch to do something that will be big. We’ve finally decided to do it.

Somewhat inspired by the new site MoveTheWebForward.org and the many articles that have popped up, including yesterday on SmashingMagazine, I have decided that I would like to contribute a small portion of my time and efforts to the open source project BuddyPress.

All of this of course relates to the start-up that me and Mr. Hathaway will be launching, which will utilize WordPress and BuddyPress. It will be something to keep your eye on and will be something that will change people’s lives.

Stay tuned.
